PATROL DIVISION

The Byram Township Police
Department's Patrol Division provides coverage to Byram's 26 square miles 24
hours per day. A minimum of two Police Officers are assigned to each shift.
These Officers provide traffic enforcement and answer calls for service. All
Officers are trained First Responders and certified with automatic external
defibrillators. Each on duty patrol vehicle is equipped with a first aid kit,
oxygen bottle and defibrillator. Byram Police Officers strive to provide our
residents with the highest quality police services available.
The Byram Township Police
Department appreciates the public's help in solving crimes. You can provide any
information you have regarding any crime or suspicious activity anonymously by
completing the
tip form.
You are not required to give your name or any information that may identify you
if you do not want to. This form is not to be used for reporting crimes.

The following is a list of some of the services that the Byram Police offer to
our residents:

Child car seat
installation/check. The majority of child car and booster seats are installed
incorrectly creating a potential safety issue. We will inspect your car or
booster seat and make sure that it is installed correctly. These checks are
conducted by appointment only and take from 15 to 30 minutes depending on
child seat model. There is no charge for this service. Appointments can be made by
contacting Officer D'Onofrio or Officer Dellicker at (973) 347-4008. Additional information on child

Child identification
kits/fingerprinting. Child identification kits and fingerprinting are
conducted various times throughout the year at organized events. For the next
scheduled event or to have us attend your event please call Lt. Zabita at
(973) 347-4008.

Free gun locks. Gun locks are available
free of charge to Byram residents. They can be picked up at the Police Station
from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. If you have any questions
