The following is a list of some of the services that the Byram Police offer to our residents:

Child identification kits/fingerprinting: Child identification kits and fingerprinting are conducted various times throughout the year at organized events. For the next scheduled event or to have us attend your event please call (973) 347-4008.

Safe Exchange Location: The Byram Township Police Department has established a safe exchange location in the parking lot in front of the Police Department. The safe exchange location provides our residents a safer place for buyers and sellers to complete sales made on Craigslist, ebay or through any other method. The two parking spaces are marked by safe exchange location signs and are under 24 hour recorded video surveillance. This area will also provide a safer place for child custody exchanges to take place. Police officers will not be involved in or witness any transactions but this does offer our residents the ability to conduct exchanges without having to give the other party their home address. The Byram Township Police Department is located in the back of the municipal complex at 10 Mansfield Dr. Stanhope, NJ 07874 for GPS purposes.

Free gun locks: Gun locks are available free of charge to Byram residents. They can be picked up at the Police Station from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

The Byram Township Police Department has a Project Medicine Drop box at police headquarters. Project Medicine Drop is an important component of the New Jersey Attorney General’s effort to stop the diversion and abuse of prescription drugs, including highly addictive opiate painkillers and the Byram Township Police Department is proud to participate in the program. Anyone wishing to dispose of unwanted over the counter or prescription medications may bring them to the police station at any time of the day where the medications can be dropped off for environmentally safe destruction.
